Fractional laser resurfacing treatments can produce dramatic results. The conditions that contribute and detract from the skin’s once healthy and youthful appearance are successfully treated with lasers. (ie: fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, enlarged pores, scars and uneven coloring). Fractional laser treatments work at both the epidermal (superficial) and dermal (deep) level by penetrating deeply into the skin to stimulate collagen leaving the skin cells vaporized, improved and smoother. Dr Young and his team only treat a fraction of the skin so the surrounding tissue remains unharmed, shortening the healing period.
What is laser skin resurfacing?
We use the advanced and safe Emerge fractional laser by Palomar. It will selectively injure some skin and allow healing and repair to improve the skin. What conditions can you target? The important conditions we treat are scars, pores, fine lines, pigment, and crepy skin around the eyes for example.
How does laser skin resurfacing works?
By selectively injuring the skin( fractionally) and then allowing the area to heal itself, we can expect improvements. We use various protocols, and this has been developed and refined by Dr Young, to optimize results and lesson downtime.
How do you prepare for this treatment?
In general it is important to be on no medication, no sites of infection, and laser areas are not irritated already.
So what are the side effects?
After a treatment the patient can expect some redness and swelling, these will resolve over the first few days. An after care plan is vital to prevent pigmentation, and other problems.
